The Dairy

Four people can stay at The Dairy, a thatched cottage with plenty of beams and a feature inglenook fireplace. It is attached to a 15th-century farmhouse but completely separate from it, on Meadowsweet Farm, one mile from Bicknoller, and the shop and the pub are about a mile away too.

Guests arrive along an old cobbled pavement and go up a few steps into the open-plan living room. The private garden has furniture, and chickens run free there while the farm cats sit on the benches. Parking is off the road for one car.

Both bedrooms are on the first floor, a double and a twin, and they share one bathroom with a freestanding claw bath. A cot is available. The kitchen and dining area has an electric oven and hob, a microwave and a fridge. Oil central heating keeps the cottage warm, and there is a TV with Freeview, a DVD player, and a selection of books, games and DVDs. WiFi is provided but cannot be guaranteed to work all the time because of the countryside location. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

One well-behaved dog is welcome. Smoking is not allowed, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. Three other cottages stand next door on the farm, and all four together sleep 21. The Dairy suits a small family or two couples who want a farm stay, with a dog if they have one.
