Little Barton

Little Barton adjoins the owners' home at Stogumber, near Bicknoller. Guests have full access to the grounds, which include an elevated deck, a secluded dell and the Doniford Stream, and the cottage looks out over open countryside. The West Somerset Railway runs alongside, and steam trains pass on the stretch between Bishop's Lydeard and Minehead; they do not run before 10am or after 5pm.

Everything is on one level. The living room, dining area and kitchen are together, and the galley kitchen has an electric oven and hob and a microwave. The double bedroom, reached from the living room, has an en-suite shower room. Heating is central, with a hairdryer, TV with Freeview and WiFi provided, and fuel, bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

The cottage is small, so it takes two adults, and children other than babes in arms cannot be accommodated; there is no cot or highchair. Bookings run Monday to Friday, Friday to Friday or Friday to Monday only. Two vehicles can park off the road. One well-behaved dog is welcome, and smoking is not allowed. The shop is three-quarters of a mile away and Watchet is 4 miles away.

It suits a couple, perhaps with a dog, who like trains and open grounds.
