Bijou Cottage

Bijou Cottage is in Montacute, near Yeovil, with village shops, pubs and Montacute House nearby. The advertised capacity is four guests, across three bedrooms. It suits a small group who want separate sleeping spaces and a village base, but the steep, narrow stairs and low doorways need consideration before booking.

Two king-size bedrooms are on the first floor, along with the family bathroom containing a bath with shower over and WC. A double bedroom is in the eaves on the second floor. There is a separate WC downstairs. Although an additional capacity is mentioned in the practical information, arrange any extra guests directly before making plans beyond four.

The lounge has a Smart TV. The kitchen extension has a flagstone floor, steps and doors opening to the courtyard. An electric oven, two-ring induction hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment and hot-water tap are provided. A washing machine is in the downstairs WC. The layout includes changes of level as well as the stairs.

The enclosed courtyard has a Japanese pond with fish, seating, loungers and a barbecue. Children need supervision around the water. Parking is roadside and is subject to space being available. Three dogs are allowed. A shop, tearoom, two pubs and Montacute House are within 450 metres. Arrival is from 15:00 and departure is before 10:00.
