Toll House stands in the village of Nether Stowey, at the foot of the Quantock Hills, with Crowcombe nearby. The village has two pubs, a Post Office, a butcher and a grocery store, and the shop, a pub and the National Trust's Coleridge Cottage are all within 450 metres. The beach at Kilve is 5.5 miles away, and Bishops Lydeard, for the West Somerset steam railway, is 10 miles.
The lounge/diner has a wood burner and a Smart TV, and the first basket of logs is supplied. The galley kitchen is compact, with an electric hob and oven, a microwave, a small fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. Cottage-style stairs lead up to the first-floor double bedroom, so it is not a good fit for anyone who struggles on stairs. The one bathroom has a cast iron slipper bath with a hand-held mixer shower attachment, and a WC.
The cottage has no private outdoor space. Parking is on the roadside, subject to availability. It is only suitable for a small baby in their own Moses basket. Dogs are not allowed. Check-in is from 2pm and departure before 10am.
It suits a couple who would rather walk to the pub and the village shop than drive, and who are happy without a garden.
