Thornhills Lodge

Thornhills Lodge is reached by a handful of steps, and the owners warn that the access may not suit anyone with limited mobility. At the top is a hand-crafted shepherd's hut laid out as a studio: a double bed, a kitchen area, a dining table and a seating area share one space, and the shower room has a walk-in shower, a basin and a WC.

The hut stands on Thornhills Holiday Park on the outskirts of Othery, looking over open countryside. A woodfired hot tub sits on the front patio, and the front decked area has an undercover section with furniture. Parking is off the road.

In the kitchen area there is a gas oven, a hob, a fridge and a kettle. Electric underfloor heating keeps the hut warm, WiFi is provided, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

Pets and smoking are not allowed, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. The lodge can be booked together with two other properties at Thornhills, which sleep up to 16 guests in all. The shop is a ten-minute walk of 0.5 miles, and the pub is 1.4 miles away.

The lodge works for a couple who want a compact hut with a hot tub of its own and are happy to climb steps.
