Shirley's Cottage - Somerset

Close to the River Parrett on the Somerset Levels, Shirley's Cottage sleeps four in Middlezoy, near Othery. The village pub and shop are 350 metres away, with a cafe and a health spa half a mile off. The lounge has a Smart TV and a wood burner in a stone fireplace, with a first basket of logs and a bucket of coal supplied. Beyond it is a dining room, then two steps up to the kitchen.

The kitchen has an electric oven, an induction hob, a microwave and a fridge. A utility room has a washing machine and a freezer, and the ground floor also holds a conservatory and a separate WC. Upstairs are two bedrooms, a double and a twin, and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC. A travel cot and a highchair are available.

The enclosed rear garden has outdoor furniture, a lawn and a charcoal BBQ, and the conservatory opens onto it. Parking is on the street, close to the cottage, rather than on a private drive. The village pub is not open every day, so book ahead if you want a meal there. The beach is 16 miles away.

Up to two dogs are allowed, and additional charges may apply. Check-in is from 3pm and departure is before 10am. The cottage suits a family of four or two couples with dogs who are happy to park on the street and want a garden and a fire.
