The Old Stables

The Old Stables is in the small village of Stawell, near Othery, and has its own private entrance behind electric gates. Beyond them is an enclosed courtyard with room for 2 small cars, seating and a gas BBQ. The drive has a gate stopper on the floor, so it is not suitable for low-slung cars. Everything is on the ground floor, which makes layout simple: a king-size bedroom with a DAB radio at one end, a twin with a CD player at the other, and a bathroom with a free-standing bath, separate shower, heated towel rail and WC.

The open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area has a woodburner for cooler evenings, and the first basket of logs is included. There is a Smart TV with freesat HD plus a video and DVD player. The tiled kitchen holds an electric double oven, hob, microwave, slow cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer and a dining table. There is a hot tub, and a Dyson cooler air conditioner is fitted. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi, electricity and central heating from a wood pellet biomass boiler are all included. No smoking.

Two dogs are welcome, though extra charges may apply, and they should not be left unsupervised for long periods. The nearest pub is about 2 miles away, the shops in Bridgwater are 5 miles and the nearest beach is 10 miles. The Old Stables suits two couples who want bedrooms at opposite ends of the house, or a couple travelling with a dog or two.
