Two-bedroom Mendip cottage for four with two shower rooms

The Stables Cottage has two bedrooms upstairs and sleeps four. It stands in Badgworth, a Mendip village near Mark, as one of four adjoining properties with a private entrance door.

Downstairs is a single open-plan room with exposed stone walls: a kitchen area, a lounge with a wood burner and a Smart TV, and a dining table opposite. The first basket of logs is included. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, a washing machine, a microwave, a fridge/freezer and an electric oven and hob. A travel cot and a highchair are available on request.

The two first-floor bedrooms are a king-size and a twin with zip-and-link 2ft 6in beds, which can be made up as a king-size on request. There are two shower rooms, each with a WC. The bedrooms sit within the eaves, so some areas of the first floor have restricted head height, which matters for taller guests.

Doors from the lounge open to an enclosed garden with a patio, lawn, furniture and a charcoal barbecue. Two off-road parking spaces come with the cottage. Two dogs are welcome and additional charges may apply. The beach is 7 miles away, the shop 5 miles and the pub 1.5 miles. The Stables Cottage suits two couples, or a small family that is happy with the low ceilings upstairs. Guests can arrive from 15:00 and must leave before 10:00.
