Moorhouse Farm

Moorhouse Farm is a wing of a working farmhouse in Edington, near Mark. Inside, the open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area keeps exposed beams, stonework and a feature fireplace holding a wood burner (logs can be bought from the local shop). A conservatory and breakfast room looks onto the garden, with a hi-fi and a selection of indoor toys.

Two bedrooms are up steep cottage-style stairs, with a stairgate: a king-size room and a twin. The cottage sleeps 4, with one bathroom containing a bath, a separate shower and a WC. The kitchen has an oven, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine. Gas heaters and electric heaters on the first floor are used for heating, and electricity is included. The Wi-Fi can be intermittent because of the location. A cot and a highchair are available.

Outside is a large enclosed garden with a patio, a barbecue, furniture and a wooden play fort with a climbing frame, swings and a slide. Guests are welcome to help feed the chickens and collect eggs on the farm. Up to 2 dogs are allowed, though additional charges may apply, and they must stay on a lead in the yard; footpaths start at the property. The shop is 1 mile, the pub 1.5 miles and the beach and golf 9 miles. Check-in is from 16:30 and check-out before 10:00. It suits a family with young children and dogs who do not mind steep stairs.
