The Old Parlour

The Old Parlour is a semi-detached former milking parlour, thought to be more than 100 years old, on a family-run farm in the hamlet of Regil, near Blagdon. The Chew Valley Lakes and the Mendip Hills are a short drive away. The farm covers 97 acres and has been in the same family for five generations.

Everything is on the ground floor. An open-plan living area combines the kitchen, dining space and sitting area, with flagstone floors. The two bedrooms are a double and a twin, sharing a bathroom with a bath and shower over. The kitchen has an electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge and washer/dryer, and the TV has Freeview. WiFi is provided, heating is oil central heating, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels. A travel cot and highchair are available on request.

Outside is a shared lawned garden with furniture and a barbecue, and parking for 2 cars off the road. There are sheep and hens on site, calves and lambs can be fed in season, and farm and wildlife tours can be arranged with the owner. The pub is a 10 minute walk and the nearest shop 3 miles.

Two steps lead up to the front door, and the back door gives another way in. The cottage is on a working farm, so expect some farm sounds and smells, and the lanes to reach it are narrow and rural. No pets and no smoking. It suits a family of four or two couples who want a quiet farm stay and have a car.
