The Loft At Nordrach Lodge

The Loft at Nordrach Lodge is a first-floor home set apart from the owner's main house, on the outskirts of the Mendip Hills about 2.4 miles from Blagdon, close to the B3134. Guests climb an external iron staircase to the front door, so it is not a fit for anyone who struggles with steps.

Inside, the single-level layout has an open-plan living space: a kitchen, a dining area that seats four, and a sitting area with a woodburning stove and a door onto the balcony. There are two bedrooms, both with king-size beds, and a bathroom with a bath, shower over, basin, heated towel rail and WC. Heating is oil-fired central heating, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included. A TV and WiFi are provided, and the kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave and a fridge with ice box.

Parking is off-road for 2 cars. The garden is an enclosed lawn shared with the owner, who is happy for guests to use her washing machine. Dogs must stay on a lead in the garden, and one well-behaved dog is welcome. A travel cot and highchair can be requested.

Smoking is allowed on the balcony or in the garden but not indoors. Worker bookings are not accepted and one-night stays are not available. A good housekeeping bond is payable. The pub and shop are 2.5 miles away. The Loft suits two couples, or a family of four with a dog, who are comfortable with an outdoor staircase.
