Bourne Farm Carthouse is a detached barn on a working farm, between the villages of Burrington and Blagdon, at the foot of the Mendip Hills. The shop is 1.5 miles away and the beach 12 miles, and the pub is under a mile on foot across the fields.
Inside, slate and wooden floors, exposed beams and a high ceiling in the lounge/diner run through the barn. The lounge has a Smart TV in front of a wood burner effect gas fire. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a fridge/freezer, a microwave and a dishwasher. The utility room has a washing machine and space to clean off muddy paws. The double and the twin bedrooms are on the ground floor beside the bathroom, which has a bath, a separate shower and WC. The king-size bedroom is upstairs, with a TV and an en-suite shower room that has low sloping ceilings.
The back door opens to an enclosed courtyard garden with a patio and furniture. A charcoal barbecue is available. Off-road parking for three cars is at the side. Two dogs are allowed, and additional charges may apply. Wi-Fi, electric and central heating are included. Arrival is from 16:00.
It suits three couples, or a family of six with a couple of dogs, who want a farm setting.
