The Fox Den

The Fox Den is a detached barn conversion at the end of a long driveway near East Coker, with Yeovil 8 miles away. It stands inside a 500-acre estate of wildflower meadows and open farmland, and sleeps six across three bedrooms.

Two super-king bedrooms are upstairs, each with its own en-suite: one has a walk-in shower, the other a bath with a shower over. Both beds are zip-and-link, so either can be made up as a twin if you ask when booking. The third super-king room is in the annexe, with underfloor heating and a wet room of its own. A further wet room sits on the ground floor next to the boot room.

The open-plan kitchen and dining area has a range cooker with induction hob, a dishwasher, an American-style fridge/freezer and a Nespresso machine. The sitting room has a log burner, and fuel and a starter pack are included in the rent. A heat pump feeds the underfloor heating, and patio doors open onto a wrap-around terrace.

The enclosed garden has a lawn, a woodland area with a pond, and a patio with barbecue and furniture. There is also a six-person hot tub with a lounger, and a warm-water tap outside for rinsing boots and paws. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, but not upstairs or on carpeted areas. Parking is off-road for three cars, and the electric vehicle charging point is charged for per use.

Bookings run Friday to Monday, Monday to Friday, or weekly from a Friday or Monday. A good-housekeeping bond is payable and the house is no-smoking. It suits a family of six, or friends sharing, who want a hot tub and dogs kept on the ground floor.
