The Castle

The Castle stands in Brean and is known locally for its carved stone detail, which gives it the look of a Mediterranean castle. Refurbished in 2018, it sits behind its own private gates, and the garden ends at private access onto the seven-mile stretch of sand below. Views run across the Bristol Channel from the garden, and the first double bedroom, on the left of the entrance hall, looks over the garden and out to sea.

There are four bedrooms: two king-size rooms, each with an en-suite shower room, a double, and a bunk room. The main bathroom has a freestanding bath, a separate shower and a WC. The lounge has a Smart TV, a Blu-ray player and a range of family games, and the open-plan kitchen/diner seats eight. The kitchen has an electric range oven, an induction hob, a warming plate, a fridge/freezer and a dishwasher, and the utility room has a washing machine and a tumble dryer. Starlink satellite broadband is installed.

The garden is fully enclosed, with a lawn for garden games and a children's climbing frame. French doors from the kitchen open onto a decked area with seating for eight, and a BBQ lodge stands at the bottom of the garden. Parking is off-road, for four cars, and the beach, shops and pubs are all within walking distance.

Two dogs are allowed, with additional charges, and Brean beach welcomes dogs all year. A refundable security deposit is payable closer to the start of the holiday. Arrival is from 16:00 and departure is before 10:00. It suits a family or a group of up to eight who want direct beach access, with or without the dogs.
