The Apple Orchard In Somerset

The Apple Orchard is a single-storey wooden cabin on a small private estate near Washford, reached down a private farm lane. It sleeps five and has a private entrance. Watchet, with its harbour, marina and weekly summer market, is 2.5 miles away. The pub is 1.5 miles off and the shop 2 miles.

The open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining room has a Smart TV, a wood burner with a first basket of logs included seasonally, and sofas facing the garden. The kitchen has an electric hob and oven, a microwave and a dishwasher, while the utility room holds the fridge/freezer, a washing machine and a Belfast sink. Water comes from a private supply.

At one end is the king-size bedroom with a hand-forged bed. The other end has a twin room and a single room. There is one family bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC. A travel cot and a highchair are available.

Outside, a decked veranda with a table and chairs leads down to the enclosed garden, which has a charcoal barbecue. Next door has a stream and large ponds. They cannot be reached from the cabin, because a hedge and post-and-wire fencing lie between the two. Off-road parking takes two cars. One dog is allowed and the owner may accept another on request; additional charges may apply.

It suits a family with a dog who want a single-level layout on a private lane.
