Old Holcombe Hillside

Old Holcombe Hillside is one of four properties on a working farm at Wiveliscombe, near Washford. The cottage is on a single level. Two external steps lead to the entrance and may be hard going for anyone with limited mobility. It sleeps four. The beach is 5 miles away, the pub 1 mile and the shop 2 miles.

Inside, the lounge and dining area has a Smart TV with a DVD player and a wood burner, with the first basket of logs included. A PlayStation 4 can be borrowed from the owner on request. The open-plan kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a dishwasher and a fridge with an ice compartment. The washing machine and clothes airer are in a utility room shared with the other properties on the site.

There are two bedrooms, a king-size and a twin, and a bathroom with a bath, a separate shower and a WC. A travel cot and a highchair are available. Wi-Fi is included, though speeds may vary because of the rural location.

The enclosed patio has seating and a private garden. A barbecue and outdoor games can be requested. Guests may use the 6 acres of surrounding land, which cows and sheep sometimes share, and children should be supervised around the nearby pond. Dogs get a wash area, and the 3.5-acre paddock is theirs to use when no sheep are in it. Three dogs are allowed, more by arrangement, and additional charges may apply. The area is a dark skies location, and a telescope can be hired by separate arrangement with the owners.

It suits a family or two couples with dogs who want everything on one level.
