Stag Cottage At Bigmoor

Stag Cottage began as the stable groom's cottage and now sleeps four at Bigmoor in Withypool, inside Exmoor National Park. The shop and pub are within walking distance. The secure gate to the adjoining cottage can be unlocked for guests booking both.

The lounge has a wood burner (a welcome basket of logs is provided in the winter) and a Sky TV with the standard package. The open-plan kitchen/diner has an electric oven, an induction hob, a microwave and a fridge with a built-in 18 litre freezer compartment, plus a dining table for four. Upstairs are two bedrooms, a king-size with a view and a second with two single beds, and a bathroom with a roll-top bath, a separate shower and a WC.

The wifi runs on Starlink. Heating and hot water come from an air source heat pump and the water supply is private. A washing machine and dryer are in the former tack room, which both cottages use.

The garden is fully enclosed and has furniture and a charcoal barbecue. Parking is ample and off-road. Well-behaved dogs, up to three, may go upstairs, but guests must bring bedding for the bedrooms (sheets, duvet and cover, pillows and cases) and agree it with the owners before arrival. Additional charges may apply. Arrival is from 17:30. Best for a family of four or two couples sharing.
