Great Bradley Cottage

Great Bradley Cottage is a detached conversion, once a woodshed, on the owners' farm in Exmoor National Park, 1.5 miles from Withypool. A bridleway behind the house leads to the village, where the Royal Oak and a shop are the nearest places for a drink or supplies. It sleeps four.

The kitchen and dining area is the first room you enter, with a Rayburn cooker, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a combi-microwave. Three steps lead up to the sitting room, which has an open fire, a larger Smart TV with FreeSat and Freeview, a DAB radio and a selection of books and games. Upstairs the super-king-size bedroom can be set up as twins on request, and another three steps lead up from the first floor to the second bedroom. The shower room is the only bathroom.

The layout is spread over three floors, and the stairs have no handrail, so the cottage may not suit anyone with limited mobility. Heating is oil-fired, WiFi is included, and bed linen, towels, fuel, power and a starter pack are in the rent. A private water supply serves the property.

The garden is a lawn with a patio. Animals are well provided for: three well-behaved dogs are welcome, and stables and kennels can be reserved in advance for a supplement. Guests can use the large heated indoor swimming pool by arrangement with the owners, who share it with a second property on the site. Parking is off the road, with plenty of room. Week-long stays of seven nights or more change over on a Friday. There is no smoking, and a good housekeeping bond is payable.

It suits a couple or two friends who walk, ride or travel with dogs.
