Purchases Barn

Purchases Barn is a detached barn built in 2021 and set into a hillside at Combe St. Nicholas, near Chard. It sleeps eight across four bedrooms, and pubs and shops are about 3 miles away, while the nearest beach is 15 miles off.

The entrance leads into a utility room with a washing machine and a separate WC. Beyond it is the open-plan kitchen and dining room, with an electric AGA and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. A lounge with a wood burner and a Smart TV opens off the kitchen, and the first basket of logs is included from October to April. Five steps lead up to the bedroom level: two king-size rooms and two twins. One king and one twin share a bathroom with a shower over the bath, and the other pair share a shower room.

Bi-fold doors open onto a patio across the front, with seating, a BBQ and a lawn enclosed by a fence and hedging. The hot tub is private and stands at the side of the barn. Parking is off-road and ample. The water supply comes from a natural spring. A highchair and a travel cot are available.

Two dogs are allowed, with additional charges that may apply. Arrival is from 4pm and departure is before 10am. It suits two families, or a group of friends, who want a hot tub and plenty of parking.
