Manor Cottage

Manor Cottage is a Grade II listed thatched cottage from the 16th century, beside the church in the village of Kingstone, near Ilminster. The market town of Ilminster is close by, and the town of Chard is nearby. The cottage sits among open fields and a wildflower field, away from neighbouring windows.

Three bedrooms sleep six: a double with an en-suite walk-in shower, a second double and a twin. The family bathroom has a bath and a heated towel rail, and there is a cloakroom as well. Bed linen, towels, fuel and power are all included in the rent.

The dining room seats six at its table and has an Inglenook fireplace kept for decoration only, while the sitting room has a working gas-fired stove and a TV with internet. The kitchen includes a dishwasher and combi microwave/oven, and a utility area holds a washing machine and tumble dryer. WiFi and gas central heating are provided, and a stairgate is available on request.

Outside there is an enclosed front garden and a rear garden, with half an acre available in total, plus a patio table and chairs. The private driveway holds three cars, and a footpath nearby suits dog walks. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. The shop is 2 miles away and the pub 1 mile.

Bookings need to start on a Friday and run for at least three nights; other check-in days can be asked about before booking. A good-housekeeping bond is payable, and smoking is not allowed. It suits a family or two couples bringing dogs.
