Newlands Barn

Newlands Barn sits in the Blackdown Hills, in the Wellington area of Somerset, with views of Wellington Monument and across the valley towards the Brendon Hills and Exmoor. The nearest shop is 2.1 miles away and the pub 2.2 miles, so this is a car-based stay.

The layout is reverse-level. The three bedrooms, two doubles and a single, are on the entrance level along with a bathroom with a bath, a shower room with a walk-in shower, and a utility room with a washing machine. You climb the stairs to the open-plan living space: a kitchen with an induction hob, a dishwasher and a breakfast bar, a dining area for five and a sitting area with a Smart TV including Sky Sports. A window seat looks out over the hills.

Outside is a garden with a lawn and a patio, plus a lockable shed for bicycles. Off-road parking is available. Heating is electric central heating, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent. WiFi is provided and a good-housekeeping bond is payable.

Two restrictions matter. No pets are allowed, and the barn is not suitable for children under 5 because of the stairs and the steps in the garden. Smoking is not allowed.

It suits a group of up to five adults or older children, particularly cyclists who want somewhere secure for their bikes.
