Margaret's 1770 Townhouse has four storeys, so plan on stairs. A private entrance leads up to the first floor, where one step at the front door goes into an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area in the middle of Bath, with a chandelier, Georgian high ceilings and sash windows over the pedestrianised street. Very young children need supervision on the stairs.

The king-size bedroom is on the second floor, with an en-suite bathroom that has a walk-in shower and a separate WC. The third floor has a twin and a single bedroom, and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. In all the house sleeps five. The lounge has two two-seater sofas, an occasional chair, a Smart TV with Netflix, an ornamental fireplace and a dining table. The kitchen has a single oven, induction hob, microwave, dishwasher and a fridge with an ice box. A welcome pack and Wi-Fi are included.

There is no outdoor space, although Victoria Gardens and the lawns of the Royal Crescent are a few hundred metres off. There is no parking at the property: Charlotte Street Car Park is 0.5 miles away, with charges every day from 8am to 8pm, including bank holidays. A restaurant and pub are 100 metres from the door and a shop 300 metres. It suits a family of five, or friends sharing, who are happy with several floors. Dogs are not allowed, check-in is from 4pm and check-out is before 10am.
