Johnstone's Secret Garden

The super-king bedroom at Johnstone's Secret Garden looks over the river Avon and Pulteney Weir, with two tub chairs and a decorative fireplace. The second bedroom is a twin that can be made into a super-king on request, so the townhouse in the 18th-century Bathwick Estate in Bath sleeps four. The one bathroom has a shower over a roll-top bath.

Getting in takes steps. The main entrance is up a few steps to a shared hallway, then down a few steps along a short corridor to the apartment's own door, and more steps lead down to the bedroom level. There is one step down to the bathroom.

The garden level has a kitchen with a microwave, dishwasher, freezer, oven, induction hob and fridge, plus a breakfast bar for two, and a sitting room with a TV and a dining area. A utility room has the washing machine. Two arch-glazed doors open from the sitting area to the walled garden, which has garden furniture, and a lockable gate leads to the Beazer Garden Maze and the river. A threshold and a small step lead down from the kitchen to the paved area, and a step goes up to the main garden, with no handrails.

There is no parking at the house; Bath Stadium Car Park is just over 300 metres away. A pub is 100 metres, a restaurant 150 metres and a shop 300 metres. The house is not suitable for children under 8, and dogs are not allowed. It suits two couples or friends sharing. A welcome pack and Wi-Fi are included.
