Glebe House

Glebe House is part of the old Wookey Vicarage, built in the 1800s, in the village of Wookey on the banks of the River Axe, close to the city of Wells. The entrance hall still has its original servants' bells on the staircase. Off it, on the right, is the sitting room with a woodburning stove, and a passage leads to a WC and out to the courtyard.

The kitchen on the ground floor has a dining space, an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a washing machine, a tumble dryer and a dishwasher. A TV with Freeview, a DVD player, WiFi, books and games are provided. Upstairs are three bedrooms: a double and a twin, each with an en-suite shower room, and a single, plus a family bathroom with a bath and shower. Heating is oil central heating.

Wood for the woodburner is kept in the garage. Outside, the courtyard and garden are shared with the neighbour and the owner, and a stream runs at one end of the garden, so children need supervising near it. A barbecue is supplied with a starter pack of charcoal; more has to be brought. Parking is for two cars, one in the courtyard and one at the front of the house on the village street.

A pub is a 5 minute walk and a shop is 1.5 miles away. Pets and smoking are not allowed. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

It suits a family of up to five, or friends sharing, who want en-suite bedrooms and a woodburner in a village setting.
