Dale Barton

Dale Barton is a stone-built barn conversion on a working farm in the village of Priddy, in the Mendips. Wells is 6.5 miles away, and the pub in Priddy is 0.7 miles from the farm. The nearest shop is 3.6 miles off, so bring provisions.

The living room and dining area share one space, with a woodburning stove set in a large stone fireplace, and the kitchen has an induction hob, an electric oven, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a tumble drier. Heating is underfloor oil central heating with the stove. WiFi is included, as are fuel, power, bed linen and towels, and a basket of logs is supplied with more on sale.

Four bedrooms sleep up to 8. A king-size and a shower room are on the ground floor, up 3 steps with a hand rail. Upstairs are two more king-size rooms, one with an en-suite shower, a twin, and the main bathroom with a bath and shower over it. Two long steps lead down into the kitchen and the downstairs cloakroom. A travel cot and highchair are available.

The garden is enclosed and has a lawn, a patio, a seating area and a barbecue. Parking takes up to 4 cars, and bikes can be stored. Two well-behaved pets are welcome and smoking is not allowed. Changeover is on Friday or Monday, and the property does not take hen or stag parties.

It suits a family or two couples who want a farm setting on the Mendips with a garden for the dogs, and who are comfortable with a few steps.
