Barley Fields

Barley Fields is a glamping pod for two in a private field near Chard, about 4 miles from the town. The pub is 2.3 miles away and the nearest shop is 2.2 miles, while the beach is 16 miles off.

Parking for one car is about 60 metres from the pod, across the field, and two external steps lead up to the door. Inside are a kitchen area with an electric oven and hob and a microwave, a corner sofa, an oak bar with stools and a TV. The double bed is the only bed, and the shower room is en-suite, with a WC and a heated towel rail. Underfloor heating runs throughout. There is no Wi-Fi, although the mobile signal is good.

Outside, a wooden fence surrounds the pod and its private terrace, which has seating and a BBQ. The hot tub is seasonal and runs from 1 April to 31 October. An enclosed duck pond lies just across the way.

Dogs are not allowed. Arrival is from 3.30pm and departure is before 10am. It suits a couple who are happy to carry their bags across a field in return for a private pod and a hot tub in the warmer months.
