Ash Lodge

Ash Lodge has two bedrooms and sleeps four. One is a double with its own en-suite shower room and WC; the other is a twin with two single beds, which can be made up as one super-king-size bed for an extra charge. A separate bathroom has a bath with a shower over it. The lodge stands on a working livestock farm at Keinton Mandeville, near Somerton, and Compton Dundon is not far away.

Large patio doors in the open-plan living area face the countryside towards Glastonbury Tor. The kitchen has an electric oven, a gas hob, a microwave, a dishwasher and a washing machine. There is a TV with Freeview, a DVD player and a Bluetooth sound system, and a hairdryer, iron and ironing board are provided. Wi-Fi is available, but the rural signal can be weak and may not suit streaming or online gaming. A cot and highchair are available on request.

The lodge has a private hot tub. The patio has garden furniture and a grassy area runs alongside it; none of the outside space is enclosed. Charcoal BBQ hire is available. Two cars can park next to the lodge, with more on request, and electric car charging is available for an extra charge.

On the farm you can buy produce and locally made Cheddar cheese, pre-book homemade meals delivered to the lodge, and join farm tours on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons, subject to availability. A small leisure pool offers private hire, Swim Fit sessions and swimming tuition as optional extras. Two pubs and a village shop are within 0.5 miles, and Wheathill Golf Club, with an 18-hole course and a driving range, is 2 miles away.

No dogs are allowed and smoking is not permitted in the lodge. A refundable security deposit is payable on arrival, check-in is from 4pm and departure is before 10am. It suits two couples, or a family of four, who want a hot tub and a farm setting.
