Ashera's Barn

Ashera's Barn sits on the edge of Compton Dundon, with Street and Glastonbury both less than five miles away. The oak frame that holds the building up is left on show, and the open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area has exposed beams and large windows looking over the gardens. The pub is a mile away by a countryside walk, or 1.5 miles by road, and the shop is 3 miles off.

The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge with an ice compartment, a dishwasher and a washing machine, and the lounge has a Smart TV and a large selection of books. The bathroom, with a shower over the bath and a WC, is on the ground floor. The double bedroom is on a mezzanine reached by open-tread wooden stairs, with skylight windows above the bed and reduced head height in places.

The barn has an enclosed private garden with a lawn, garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ. Guests may also walk through the owners' land and woodland and meet the animals, and Lollover Hill, a bird-watching SSSI, can be climbed straight from the property. Parking for two cars is in front of the barn. Electric vehicle charging can be arranged with the owner for an extra charge.

Two dogs are allowed, and additional charges may apply. Enquire about short stays between April and October. Check-in is from 2.30pm and departure before 10am. It suits a couple who want a quiet base with a garden for the dog.
