Beech Lodge

Beech Lodge is a contemporary lodge designed entirely on one level, on a working livestock farm at Keinton Mandeville, near Somerton. Compton Dundon is the nearby village. It sleeps four. Large windows in the open-plan living area face the countryside towards Glastonbury Tor, and a Freeview TV with a DVD player and a selection of DVDs sits beside a Bluetooth sound system.

Raised decking runs across the front of the lodge with garden furniture, and lawned grounds surround it. The sunken hot tub is private to guests. Charcoal BBQ hire is available. Private parking for two cars is next to the lodge, more can be arranged on request, and electric car charging costs extra.

One bedroom is a double with an en-suite shower room and WC. The other is a twin with two single beds, which can be set up as a super-king-size bed by prior arrangement for an extra charge. The family bathroom has a bath with a shower over it. The kitchen has an electric oven, a gas hob, a microwave, a dishwasher and a washing machine. Wi-Fi is available, with speeds that vary and may not suit streaming or online gaming. A cot and highchair can be provided on request.

The Quarry Inn and Cross Keys Inn are both near, a shop and a pub are 0.5 miles away, and a takeaway is 5.5 miles. Farm produce is on sale, homemade meals for two can be pre-booked and delivered, and farm tours run on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons, subject to availability. The farm's small leisure pool has private hire, Swim Fit sessions and tuition as optional extras.

Dogs are not allowed and smoking is banned inside. A refundable security deposit is taken on arrival, by cash or bank transfer. The lodge suits a family of four, or two couples, who want a hot tub and everything on one floor.
