Aluric's Hall

Aluric's Hall is a listed, 13th-century timber-framed building in the hamlet of Bratton, 1.5 miles from Minehead and 4.4 miles from Porlock. It was made from the remains of a medieval manor house and stands next to the owner's own home.

It sleeps 4 adults in two super king-size bedrooms on the first floor. One has an en-suite with a bath and walk-in shower, the other an en-suite with a bath, shower over and a bidet. A third room is for alternative sleeping only and does not add to the capacity. Children are not accepted, and neither are pets.

Downstairs there is a sitting room with a woodburning stove and a small library, a snug with a TV, and a farmhouse kitchen with a long dining table and views over the adjoining orchard and fields. Biomass heating is used, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent. WiFi, a washing machine and a dishwasher are provided. A dedicated parking area takes two cars, and the front garden is enclosed, with a lawn and bench.

Naked flames are strictly prohibited inside and around the property, including candles, fireworks and barbecues, and smoking is not allowed. A good housekeeping bond is payable, and peak season has a four-night minimum for short breaks. The nearest shop and pub are both 1.2 miles away. It suits two couples or friends after a quiet stay in a rural setting.
