1 The Mews

1 The Mews is a terraced cottage on the high street in Porlock, within Exmoor National Park. It sleeps four in two bedrooms upstairs, one of them a double. The first floor has a Juliette balcony between the two bedrooms. A single bathroom, the only one in the house, has a bath with a shower over, a basin and WC.

Downstairs, the living and dining room has a woodburning stove and original stone walling, and the compact kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine. There are two TVs, and WiFi. Heating is by electric storage heaters plus the stove, with fuel, power, bed linen and towels all included. A travel cot is available and babes in arms are welcome.

There is no garden. Parking is off-road for one car. One well-behaved dog is welcome. Smoking is not allowed, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable.

The pub and shop are each 0.1 miles away, Porlock Bay's pebble beach is reached from the village, and walkers can pick up the South West Coast Path or the Coleridge Way. It suits a couple, or a couple with a small child, who want a village-centre base with a stove and no garden to look after.
