4 Bishops Cottages

4 Bishops Cottages is a thatched cottage in Wootton Courtenay, a village inside Exmoor National Park and within reach of Minehead. Inside, the kitchen/diner has wooden beams, an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a sitting room with a TV, a snug, and WiFi.

Upstairs are two bedrooms: a double with an en-suite walk-in shower, basin and WC, and a single. A cloakroom with a basin and WC completes the layout. Oil central heating is on, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent. A travel cot and highchair can be provided if requested in advance. Outside, the rear garden has a lawn, a patio with furniture and space to store bikes.

Read the warnings before booking. The ceilings are low, the single bedroom has a very low window so children need supervising, and there are steps between rooms and a steep, short flight of stairs, so it may not suit anyone with mobility problems. Barbecues and smoking are not allowed, and puppies are not accepted. One well-behaved pet is welcome. The minimum stay is three nights, roadside parking is first come, first served, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. A shop is 0.2 miles away and a pub 0.3 miles. It suits a couple, or a couple with one child, who like an old cottage and travel light.
