White Croft Barn

White Croft Barn is a renovated, split-level barn in the village of Banwell, near Cheddar and Hutton, on the edge of the Mendip Hills. It stands beside the A371, a short drive from pubs, shops and restaurants. It sleeps 4.

The lounge is on the ground floor, with a wood burner (first basket of logs included), a TV, a Blu-Ray player, a Bluetooth stereo and a small galleried seating area above it. The king-size bedroom and the bathroom, with a shower over the bath, are also on this level. The kitchen/diner is on the lower ground floor, with an electric oven, a gas hob, a fridge with a freezer compartment, a washing machine and a dishwasher. The second bedroom, with twin single beds, is upstairs. There is also a sofa bed, but the barn is booked for four.

Steep stone steps lead from the barn up to a raised decked area with seating, a BBQ and views across the Somerset Levels. The adjacent garden holds an inflatable hot tub, available all year, and an unheated plunge pool, available from 1 May to 30 September. Pool inflatables and garden games are provided.

Access is by a steep driveway and those steep steps, so the barn is unsuitable for guests with mobility issues. The parking area is at the bottom of the driveway. No dogs are allowed. Check-in is from 2.30pm and departure is before 10am. It suits two couples or a family of four who are comfortable with steps.
