The Annex At Rackley Barn

The Annex at Rackley Barn is a single-storey barn conversion on the edge of Compton Bishop, beneath Crook Peak in the Mendip Hills. The village is near Cheddar and Hutton. The annex sleeps four.

The open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area has a Smart TV, bi-fold doors and a large island with bar stools. The kitchen includes a dishwasher, a washer dryer, a coffee machine and a microwave, and the floors have underfloor heating. The two bedrooms each have a Smart TV: a king-size, and a twin zip-and-link that can be made into a king-size on request. The bathroom has a freestanding slipper bath, a separate shower and a WC. A cot and a highchair are available.

The enclosed garden has a patio with furniture, a charcoal BBQ and a sail for shade. A riverbank runs along the bottom, outside the garden, where guests can fish, and guided llama walks can be booked with the owner. The walks are not suitable for children under 8, though they can meet the llamas and goats, and children over 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Private parking is for two cars, and an EV charger is available at the property.

Two dogs are allowed and additional charges may apply. Check-in is from 4pm and departure is before 10am. It suits a family or two couples who want a single-storey layout and something to do on site. The beach is 7 miles away, two pubs are under 2 miles and the shop is 2 miles.
