The Old Stable

The Old Stable is a Grade II listed terraced cottage in the village of Hutton, near Weston-super-Mare, that has kept its period features. The pub is a five-minute walk, and the beach is 2.5 miles away.

Two woodburners do much of the work in cooler months, one in the kitchen with its breakfast bar and one in the sitting room, which also has a dining area. Gas central heating and underfloor heating are in place too, and fuel, power and a starter pack for the burners are included. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washer/dryer, and there is a TV with Freeview and WiFi.

Three bedrooms use zip-and-link beds that can be set as a super king-size double or a twin on request. The ground-floor bedroom is a super king-size with an en-suite shower room, and the other two rooms are a super king-size double and a twin. A ground-floor bathroom has a bath with a shower over it.

At the front is a large courtyard with private seating and a patio with a barbecue. Guests can also use a shared indoor area with a table tennis table in the old coach house next door. Off-road parking takes two cars.

Check-in is at 5pm and check-out at 10am. Stays of three nights or more are accepted, and two-night stays should be asked about before booking. No pets and no smoking. It suits a family of up to six who want a bedroom on the ground floor and somewhere to play on a wet day.
