Wavering

Wavering is a stone-built barn conversion in Compton Bishop, near Axbridge, which is 2.2 miles away. Bleadon is also nearby. The ground floor is one open-plan room with a woodburning stove at the centre of the sitting area, a dining table with a selection of games, a Smart TV and a kitchen with an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge with ice box and a washing machine.

Stairs lead up to the two bedrooms, a king-size and a single, which share a shower room with a large walk-in shower and a heated towel rail. Bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided. Logs are included for the stove, and the heating is electric.

Outside is an enclosed garden seating area with furniture and a barbecue, and a courtyard beside the cottage has space for up to two cars. There is secure bicycle storage. Two well-behaved dogs or cats are welcome, with a permanent wooden stair gate fitted; dogs cannot be left unattended, and cats must be caged when guests are out. Smoking and vaping are not allowed inside, a bond is payable, and children under 5 cannot stay because of the stove.

Short breaks are a minimum of three nights, with Monday and Friday arrivals. There is no EV charging at the cottage, and the nearest point is 1.2 miles away. The shop is 1.2 miles away and two dog-friendly pubs are 1.6 miles.

It suits a couple, or a family of three with older children, who want to walk and cycle from the door with a dog.
