Single-storey studio for 2 adults with log burner, no pets

The Snug is a single-storey studio in Brompton Regis, 5.6 miles from Dulverton and within Exmoor National Park. It is an adult-only property for two guests, and neither pets nor smoking are allowed.

Everything sits in one room: a king-size bed, a kitchenette with a fridge and a kettle, and a sitting area where the woodburning stove heats the whole studio. The shower is a cubicle. The toilet is in a separate building to the rear of the property. WiFi is included, along with bed linen, towels, fuel and power.

Outside there is a private lawn with furniture, and a lake 0.3 miles away. The pub is 1.4 miles from the door and the nearest shop is 5.6 miles away. Parking is in a private car park. A good-housekeeping bond is payable on booking.

It suits a couple who want a self-contained base for walking and wildlife. Tarr Steps, the old clapper bridge over the River Barle, is the obvious first outing. Exmoor National Park is the place for hiking and cycling, and for spotting wild ponies and red deer. Wimbleball Lake has fishing, sailing and canoeing, and Dunster Castle and the West Somerset Railway are both within reach for a longer day.
