The Cottage - Catford House

The Cottage at Catford House sits in 60 acres, 2 miles from the village of Huish Champflower and within reach of Dulverton and the edge of Exmoor. The nearest pub is 2.5 miles away, shops are 5 miles off and the beach is 13.5 miles. Guests may walk the pasture, where free-range chickens roam.

It is joined to the main house but has its own entrance and a fully enclosed garden. A secluded courtyard holds a table and chairs, and steps lead up to a south-facing enclosed lawn and the parking area, which has room for two cars. The garden also has a charcoal barbecue, and bikes can be stored in one of the farm's outbuildings.

Inside, the porch leads to a combined lounge, kitchen and dining area. A wood burner sits in an inglenook fireplace, and the first basket of logs is included. There is also a Smart TV. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge with an ice compartment and a dishwasher.

Upstairs is the single bedroom, with a super king-size zip-and-link bed that can be split into two single beds if you ask when booking, and an en-suite shower room.

Only adults can stay: no children or infants are allowed. One dog is welcome, and the owner may consider a second if you contact them directly. Additional charges may apply. It suits a couple who want a quiet stay with a dog.
