The Old Workshop

The Old Workshop is a renovated detached cottage in Dulverton, on the edge of Exmoor National Park. You enter through a heated boot room with hooks for coats and space for muddy boots, then step into a large open-plan room that holds the kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area with a wood-burning stove. DVDs and games are provided.

Six people can sleep here, and the maximum is 6 including children and infants. Two king-size bedrooms on the first floor each have an en-suite shower, basin and WC. The third bedroom is a twin with French doors from the courtyard area, and the bathroom with its bath and shower over is next to it. Four stairs lead to the twin and that bathroom, so they may not suit anyone with limited mobility.

The kitchen has an electric oven, an induction hob, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washer/dryer, and there is a TV and WiFi. There is no microwave. The courtyard is enclosed and has furniture, with space for extra parking beyond the off-road spaces. The shop, pub and restaurants are 0.1 mile away.

Booking rules to note: Friday changeover, with Friday and Monday the only check-in days, and a minimum of 7 nights in July and August. Two well-behaved pets are welcome, but no puppies. Smoking and vaping are not allowed, and a good housekeeping bond is payable. It suits two couples or a family who want an en-suite each and a boot room for dogs.
