The Old Stables - Wiveliscombe

The Old Stables is a former stable on a 33-acre country estate in the hamlet of Waterrow, near Wiveliscombe and not far from Wellington. It sleeps two, with one king-size bedroom and a Jack and Jill en-suite shower room with a WC that can also be reached from the hall. The lounge, kitchen and dining space is open-plan, with patio doors.

The kitchen has an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher, and guests find a welcome pack. A Smart TV and DVD player are provided. Laundry is shared: the washing machine and tumble dryer are in a shared laundry room. The water supply is a natural spring.

Outside, the courtyard is fully enclosed and dog-proof, for guests only, with dining furniture and a charcoal barbecue. The estate has woodland, pasture, ponds and the River Tone, and the farm holds fishing rights on the river for guests with a licence. There is a designated stock-fenced field for exercising dogs. Parking is private, for two cars. The shop is 1.5 miles away, the pub 1 mile and the beach 13 miles.

Take care: the ponds and small lake are unfenced and the river can run high and fast in winter. CCTV covers the entrance gate and the property's entrance. No children under 15 are accepted. Up to two dogs are allowed, with additional charges possible. Check-in is from 16:00 and check-out is before 10:00. It suits a couple with a dog who want open land to walk it on.
