The Old Piggery is a converted building on a family-run farm and camping site at Thornfalcon, a village near Taunton. Chickens and pygmy goats are in plain view from the patio, and dog walks start straight from the door, around the farm fields.
You come in to an open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a fridge with an ice compartment, a slimline dishwasher and a microwave, and a TV is in the lounge. The cottage has two bedrooms at opposite ends. The main one has a king-size bed and the other is a twin with 2ft 6in beds. A shower room with a shower and WC completes the space.
Patio doors lead from the lounge onto a raised patio with an outdoor furniture set. Off-road parking takes two cars. A pub is 1.8 miles away and the nearest shop 3.5 miles. Taunton, five miles off, has shops, cafes, county cricket and a weekly farmers' market, and the Blackdown Hills are 13 miles away.
Two dogs are allowed, and extra charges may apply. Arrival is from 16:00 and departure before 10:00. It suits a family of four, or two couples, who like a working-farm setting and want to bring dogs.
