Sweetings Barton Barn

Sweethay Barton Barn is a stone barn at Cotford St Luke, near Taunton. The way in is through the front garden to stable doors that open into the kitchen. The shop is 0.4 miles away and the pub 1.5 miles.

The double-aspect lounge and dining room has a wood burner, with the first basket of logs included, and a Smart TV with Sky Sports. French doors face north to the shared grounds and south to the garden. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher, and the utility room off it holds a washing machine and a WC.

Two bedrooms are upstairs. The king-size has an en-suite shower room. The twin zip-and-link bedroom adds a day bed and has an en-suite bathroom with a bath and shower. The twin beds can be made into a king-size on request. The barn is booked for four.

The enclosed private garden has a patio with dining furniture, sun loungers, a charcoal barbecue, a fire pit and a raised lawn, and there is a hot tub. The shared grounds have lawns, a lake and streams, and the lake and stream are unfenced, so children and dogs need watching. Two dogs are welcome, with additional charges possibly applying. A travel cot, highchair, two stairgates and a dog guard for the French doors are available on request. Parking is private for two cars, and there is secure shed storage. Arrival is from 15:00 and departure before 10:00.

It suits a family of four, with a dog or two, who will keep an eye on the open water.
