The Old Piggery - Heavenly Views Cottage

The Old Piggery is a holiday home in a converted farm building at Buckland St Mary, on a 120-acre working farm in the Blackdown Hills, with Ilminster less than 10 miles away. It sleeps four. Both bedrooms have an en-suite shower room: one holds a double bed, and the other a twin with zip-and-link beds that can be made up as a king-size on request. The twin room also has French doors onto the patio.

You come in through a hall, with parquet floors and high pitched ceilings, into an open-plan living area. The lounge has a Smart TV and bi-fold patio doors, and the kitchen along two walls has an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, dishwasher and a fridge with a freezer compartment. Wi-Fi is available, and a travel cot and highchair can be supplied. Water comes from a private supply.

This place is set up for dogs, and up to four are welcome with additional charges. There is a dog wash. A secure 4-acre dog park on the site has an agility area, shade trees, a drinking water bowser and benches, and it is booked separately through the owners' own website. Your own garden is large and enclosed, with outdoor furniture and a charcoal barbecue. The owner offers guided farm tours.

The approach is along a long private farm lane, and parking is private and ample. The pub and restaurant are 2.5 miles away, and the shop is 7.5 miles. It can also be booked together with another property that sleeps a further six guests. Arrival is from 3pm and departure before 10am. It suits two couples, or a small family, with several dogs.
