The Old Kings Head

The Old Kings Head is a former village pub in Burrowbridge, near Othery, now a holiday house for eight. The old bar survives as a private games room with table football and a dartboard, and a traditional fruit machine still sits in the corner. The ground floor also has a kitchen with a breakfast bar, a lounge and a separate snug, each with a Smart TV, and a family shower room.

Four bedrooms are on the first floor: a super-king-size, two king-size rooms and a twin. Two bathrooms serve them, one of them en-suite, and both have a shower over the bath. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a fridge/freezer, a microwave, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a coffee machine. A travel cot and a highchair are available on request.

The grounds have an enclosed garden, a furnished patio and an orchard with a fire pit. Guests have exclusive use of the outdoor swimming pool, which is heated from May to September and open for cold water swimming the rest of the year. There is a shared gym and river fishing on site, with a fishing licence needed. Lockable bike storage and private off-road parking for three cars are included. CCTV covers the front, the driveway and the rear courtyard. The pub and shop are 1 mile away, and the beach is 19 miles away.

Dogs are not allowed. Check-in is from 4pm and departure is before 10am. The house suits two families or a group of friends who want a pool and a games room under one roof.
