The Big Oak Barn

The Big Oak Barn is a former milling barn in Moorlinch, near Othery, restored with oak from the owner's woodland and set in the grounds of the owner's home. It sleeps eight. The main living space is one large room with a vaulted ceiling, large windows and French doors. The kitchen end has an electric double oven, a gas hob, a microwave, three fridges, a freezer and a dishwasher, and the lounge has a TV and DVD player.

Stairs from the lounge go down to the lower ground floor, where there is a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a double bedroom, a separate bathroom with a bath and WC, and a utility room with a washing machine and a tumble dryer. The first floor has a king-size bedroom with a TV, a twin room, and a bathroom with a bath, a separate shower and a WC.

The gardens include a patio with furniture and a BBQ, a decked seating area, an open lawn and a rose garden. A gate from the lawn leads into an enclosed paddock with Giant Jenga, swing ball, badminton, netball and football nets, and guests can help collect eggs from the chickens there. There is secure storage for bicycles, and off-road parking for three cars is next to the barn. The owner, a BASC coach, takes bookings for clay pigeon shooting before your stay, weather permitting. A pub is within walking distance, the shop is 4 miles away and the beach is 13 miles away.

Dogs are not allowed, and EVs cannot be charged from the property. Arrival is from 5.30pm and departure is before 10am. The barn suits two families sharing, or a group of eight friends who want bedrooms on two floors and a games paddock.
