The Old Farmhouse

The Old Farmhouse stands within a working farm at Chew Stoke, on the northern edge of the Mendip Hills, with Blagdon Lake 1.5 miles to the west and Chew Valley Lake 2.5 miles to the east. Chew Magna is within 3.5 miles, and Blagdon is nearby. It sleeps six.

Beyond the entrance step, the kitchen/diner has a central farmhouse-style table and skylights in a sloping ceiling. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a microwave. A utility room with a washing machine leads on to a bathroom with a roll-top bath, and the lounge has a Smart TV. Upstairs are a shower room and three bedrooms: two king-size rooms and a single, which can be made into a king-size on request. A travel cot and highchair are available on request.

French doors from the kitchen open to a courtyard-style garden with outdoor furniture, and two cars can park. The pub and the shop are both two miles away, and the beach is 17 miles. The house was once part of the main farmhouse and is attached to neighbouring properties. Roaming farm animals can be on the site, including at the entrance. Dogs are not allowed. Arrival is from 15:00 and departure before 10:00.

It suits a family or two couples who like a farm setting, but not guests who want a detached house or who bring a dog.
