The Old Chapel - Withypool

The Old Chapel is a converted chapel in the centre of Withypool, on a rise above the River Barle valley in Exmoor National Park. The pub, tea room, village shop and post office are all under 100 metres away. The front door is reached by a few steps from the village lane.

A large hallway with a slate-tiled floor and wood panelling leads to the lounge, where a wood burner sits in a stone fireplace (the first basket of logs is included between September and April). The lounge has a Smart TV with streaming, a Sonos system plays throughout the cottage, and Alexa devices are in the lounge and all three bedrooms. The country-style kitchen/diner has an electric range-style cooker, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a Nespresso machine. A utility area at the side has a washing machine, a tumble dryer and a rack for one mountain bike. A highchair and travel cot are available.

Upstairs are two king-size bedrooms and a twin. The main king-size has an en-suite shower room and a separate WC with basin, and the family bathroom has a shower over the bath. A small, fully enclosed patio at the side has a table and chairs.

The parking is one allocated space, signed for the chapel and 100 metres from the house. It has access to an EV charging point paid for by card through a smartphone app. A camera runs around the clock, showing live images only, and covers the parking space and the road outside, not the front door. Two dogs are allowed, and additional charges may apply. It suits a family of up to six who want to be in the village.
