First-floor studio annex for two, adults only

The Nest is a first-floor annex in the village of Meare, near Glastonbury, with Wedmore a nearby place. Fields can be seen from the parking area, and the raised position gives more of the same outlook inside.

A gravel path leads from the parking space to external stairs, which climb to the front door. The annex is one open studio with a double bed, a two-seater sofa and coffee table, a dining area and a kitchenette. Electric heating and an electric fire keep it warm, in the same room as the sitting and dining areas.

The kitchenette is equipped with a microwave, a fridge with an ice box, an air fryer and a kettle, so it suits light meals rather than full cooking. A separate shower room has a walk-in shower, basin and WC. WiFi and a Bluetooth speaker are provided, and bed linen, towels, fuel and power are included.

One car can park off-road. The village shop is 0.5 miles away, the pub 1.1 miles and the river 1.1 miles.

Pets, children and smoking are not allowed, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. It suits one or two adults who want a self-contained retreat and are fine with an outside staircase.
