The Forge

The Forge is a converted 19th-century smithy in Ham, a small village near Creech St Michael and about four miles from Taunton. Everything is on one floor. A stable door opens into a single open-plan room with a vaulted, beamed ceiling and wooden floors, holding the kitchen, a dining table and a sitting area.

The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, an extractor hood, a microwave and a fridge. There is a smart TV and WiFi, and underfloor heating runs from an air source heat pump. Electricity bills, bed linen and towels are all included in the rent.

The double bedroom has individual reading lights over the bed. Its en-suite shower room has a walk-in shower, a heated towel rail, a vanity mirror and a shaver socket.

Outside is a private enclosed garden with a lawn, and garden furniture can be supplied on request. Parking is on a private drive for one car and is not suitable for large commercial vehicles. The nearest convenience store and Post Office are in Creech St Michael, 1.3 miles away, and the nearest electric vehicle charging point is at the Premier Inn in Ruishton, 1.7 miles away.

No pets, and no smoking or vaping. A good housekeeping bond is payable. Check-in is from 4pm, except on Sundays, when it is from 7pm. The Forge suits a couple who want a quiet one-storey base with their own garden.
