The Cottage

The Cottage is at Treborough, inside Exmoor National Park, four miles from Washford. It sits on a working farm, and every room is on the ground floor. Exposed A-frame beams run through the open-plan living area, which combines the kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area built around a woodburning stove.

Three bedrooms sleep six: a double with an en-suite shower, a second double with a TV, and a twin that can be made up as a king-size on request. The family bathroom has a shower over the bath. The equipment is an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a tumble dryer. Two TVs, a DVD player, WiFi, books and games are provided, with oil-fired underfloor heating. Fuel, power, a starter pack, bed linen and towels are included in the rent. A highchair and cot are available on request.

Outside, an enclosed garden of gravel and patio has furniture and a barbecue. Off-road parking is for two cars. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, and smoking is not allowed. The nearest shop and pub are 2 miles away.

Over the Christmas period the cottage takes Friday to Friday bookings only.

It suits a family, or a couple with friends, who want everything on one floor and two dogs along.
